It will change. eBooks and websites in our collections, digital reference and gaming in our services are today’s latest changes, but librarianship HAS ALWAYS evolved and changed. It is the defining aspect of a vital and relevant profession...

Gutenberg 2.0: Kindling the Reading Habit
Few events in history, if any, are simultaneously as innocuous and revolutionary as the invention of the printing press. As a fundamental enabler of the Reformation and Renaissance, it helped lay the intellectual foundation for the modern world. Cheaper, mechanically printed books meant access to knowledge, ideas, and expression for a much broader...

But on December 5, Amazon announced that its customers had been purchasing Kindles at the rate of more than 1 million per week — for the past three straight weeks. POLL : What format do you use/prefer to read...
After reading this article (and many others) about how many MILLIONS of Kindles/Nooks/e-readers were sold over the holiday weekend - it got me curious as to how many of you guys use reading devices? Which one do you reach for? Or better yet, what format do you really prefer? Are you old school and prefer your literature/information read via the written page?
Take my poll! Let me know!...

I found out that one of my dogs likes cat poo.
At the same time, I also discovered that my gag reflex is pretty darn amazing. Just another typical morning in my house. How’s your morning going so far? Chat me up!
(By the way, this is the same dog who partially ate my Christmas tree the other day.)
