Got Faith?

Got faith?
Actually, I do. In a time where freedom of religion seems to be expressed every second, I often hesitate to mention that I do believe in God, that I’m Christian, that I’m a strong Roman Catholic.
I was baptized and raised Catholic, confirmed Catholic, and still Catholic now. I try every day, every second, never to judge, EVER, someone based on their faith, or their right to express such beliefs (or non-beliefs) so I hope that others will reciprocate the respect. I also do not assume what others believe, political or religious, based on their faith. Just because I am Roman Catholic, doesn’t mean that I fall immediately into a stereotype. That’s not how life works, as much as we wish everything was black and white. It’s not. I will often share a psalm or a bible reading/scripture passage that is either lyrical and beautiful to share, or that means something special to me. I believe in God. It’s that simple for me.
I also have always loved the feeling I got, walking into a holy place. Into a church. I swear I feel it every single time I step into a church still, and I also feel the same feeling every time I step foot into a library. A sacred place for me. Something calms me, something speaks to me, making me feel like I should be here. I need to be here. This is where I need to be. As much as I rave about style and clothes - none of that matters. Really. Someday, I’d love to merge my love of books and libraries (and style, ha!) with the Roman Catholic Church. How? I’m not sure. But I know I’ll figure that path out, soon.
“Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.” -1 Corinthians 6:19
About a year ago, I stumbled on a way of life called “Prayfit” which combines Christian belief with the aspect of physical fitness. The idea: to be strong in your faith for your soul, and to be strong and physically fit and healthy for your body - combine the two - and you’ll be on a better path with God and your “self”. The more fit we are, the better we live, move and serve. You can’t have one, without the other. I’m a follower of Prayfit - if you can’t already tell by my love of running. How does Asics word it? Sound mind, sound body. Same goes for my belief: Strong faith, strong body. In His name, I train.
“You don’t have souls, you ARE souls. You HAVE bodies.” - C.S. Lewis
